Over 100 companies are pumpingthe river and sea beds all over the country. Without scruples or regard to the people and environment, greedy companies, are rafing in profits on the destruction of Khmer soil. Some protected species are disappearing at an unprecedented pace and will likely never be replaced. What is the political will to reign in this anarchy? This is asequence extracted from the Equity Weekly TV show # 86, broadcasted on the 26th April 2009 , produced by UNDP and TVK, with support from SIDA, AusAid, Canadian International Development Agency and Irish Aid as part of the SDEP (Strengthening Democracy and Electoral Processes in Cambodia) project of UNDP CAMBODIA. Tons of radioactive waste generated by the nation’s nuclear weapons production facilities is being readied for cross-country travel to the first “permanent” nuclear waste disposal site, located near Carlsbad, New Mexico. Regular nuclear shipments will pass through 28 states for the next 25 years on the way to the controversial WIPP site (Waste Isolation Pilot Project). THE WIPP TRAIL video is the first program to explore the problems this waste will pose to the millions of people in communities along the transportation route and near the dump site. It also shows why citizens groups are concerned that political considerations are preventing the resolution of major health and safety issues. Over 30 scientists, health officials, citizens and politicians provide a wide range of opinions, illustrated by footage of the WIPP site and other graphics. The program is narrated by Robert Redford. Producer: Frank Morrow. Production Company: Alternative Information Network. Keywords: Alternative Views; progressive media; alternative media; public access television; Frank Morrow; Doug Kellner; Austin Community Televison; nuclear power; nuclear testing; ; WIPP Trail. A documentary showing the ravages of nuclear power and nuclear bomb testing on the people and environment, particularly in the New Mexico area. “The WIPP Trail” provides statements from both sides, which reveal governmental collusion with the nuclear industry. ((****NOT AUSTRALIA**** I know I said Australia..Sorry…. :D~ )) VIENNA, Austria – The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) detected very low concentrations of radioactive particles from the Fukushima Nuclear power plant on Friday in the city of Vienna. However, this does not mean any threat to public health as declared by the AGES. The spokesman for the agency stated that the people and environment are not endangered from the low concentrations of iodine-131 and cesium-137 that were detected on Thursday for first time. Aerosol samples are continuously being analyzed to determine the amount of radioactive substances that may be polluting the environment. www.ubalert.com theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com www.sott.net hisz.rsoe.hu VIDEOS: Update: Workers trying to pump out radioactive water from Japan reactors www.youtube.com Radioactive Iodine 1250 times over safety limit detected in seawater at Fukushima www.youtube.com 6.8 Earthquake Causes Devastation in Myanmar www.youtube.com Update! A local carpet cleaning company charged us five dollars to dispose of the waste water then I caught them dumping right down the street in the storm drain… very harmful to our environment seeing that those drains go to all the little cannals and lakes in the area… that water is full of harmful pollutants and is extremely bad for the environment. Also I think they should have to refund every customer that five dollar “e fee” that they say is for disposal of the dirty water!

Check out this short tour of the Island School and Cape Eleuthera Institute. According to its website, “The Island School is a mind, body, and spirit journey that takes students away from traditional high school curriculum and invites them to confront authentic challenges. Classes are designed to allow first-hand engagement with the people and environment of The Bahamas. English, math, environmental art, history, applied scientific research, human ecology, and marine ecology are offered; each course focuses on the application of knowledge to real-world problems. SCUBA diving, island exploration, and two kayaking expeditions complement daily morning exercise and campus work that encourages each student to develop leadership and teamwork skills.” The Changing Seas crew worked with experts from the institute while shooting their “Alien Invaders” episode in Eleuthera, Bahamas.
